Race for the Cure 2010 – Austin, Texas

We (my husband and I) just got back from Race for the Cure: Austin. A year ago, I had just started chemo for breast cancer. Today, I easily ran 3 miles. It felt great.
As a survivor we got special benefits. We got close up parking and access to the survivor’s tent for breakfast and other goodies.
On the way out I was stopped by someone who recognized me from the Why I Race Video. We also saw Lloyd Doggett and talked to him for a minute to congratulate him on his win and let him know we had his sign up in our yard.
It was a great morning and I hope to be able many, many more of these.
Thanks to everyone who came out showed support today.
In memory of all those that are no longer in the fight.
In honor of ALL cancer SURVIVORS.
