As a long-time blogger here in Austin, Texas I’m more like the tortoise than the hare. I’ve been growing my blog and social media platforms slowly and steadily over the last 13 years.
My lifestyle blog, Cha Ching Queen started on the free Blogger platform, with Blogspot, back in 2018.
Since then, I’ve been doing my best to provide helpful, useful, informative, and sometimes entertaining content to Austin area and national readers.
My goal is to be the best source for whatever information my audience seeking.
Back when coupon clipping was all the rage, I helped my audience save money with various coupon tips and tricks. Then, as savings became digital, I provided tips on high tech coupon clipping for back to school savings.
In 2009, I showed vulnerability as I shared by breast cancer journey.
I’m proud to say that my hard work has not only reached a large audience, but it has also landed me on several of the Austin best bloggers lists.

What Makes a Top Blogger?
Depending on who you talk to, there are a variety of characteristics of a top blogger. It’s not just about the amount of followers one has. You don’t have to have over 100k Instagram followers to be considered.
To be a good blogger you must
- Be a good writer.
- Keep E-A-T in mind. (Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness)
- Be concise and effective.
- Stay up-t0-date on your niche.
- Be consistent.
- Engage with your audience.
- Be a lifelong learner.
I can’t say I’m an expert in all of these, by I try my best to keep these in mind as I work and create new content.
Being a lifelong learner is extremely important. Over the years I have read, listened to podcasts, attended conferences, and self taught.
