Making Money with Sponsored Content
On my old blog, which I recently sold, sponsored content was one of my main sources of income. Over my 13 years of blogging, I developed relationships with many different brands (big and small). I helped these brands promote their products or services on my site and social media accounts.
Some of the sponsored content were exchanges, such as free hotel stays or even an all-expenses-paid family ski vacation! But, brands also paid me for posting content to the blog and social media accounts.
As the years went by and I amassed a bigger, more engaged audience, I was able to charge more for my services. One of my first sponsored content projects paid $25. By the end of my time on my previous site, I was making more than $1000 for a blog post with social media shares.
